I’m a philosopher with a specialization in the philosophy of language and of mind, broadly construed.
I'm currently a postdoctoral fellow at the Zukunftskolleg at the University of Konstanz. I was previously a postdoc in the Linguistics Department at the University of Konstanz working in the project Universal Preferences for Natural Concepts in cooperation with the Philosophy Department.
My recent research has focused on some of the following topics: lexical meaning (in particular, verbal meaning) and aspectual classes; event semantics; the semantics and pragmatics of modals; propositional attitudes and the nature and content of intentional states; mental representations; the nature of obligations and abilities; and speech act theory and the kinematics of discourse.
I obtained my PhD in Philosophy in 2020 from Northwestern University, where I also obtained a certificate in the Cognitive Science program. I was a visiting student at the Department of Linguistics and Philosophy at MIT in the fall of 2015. I have a Masters in Education from the City College of New York, CUNY, and a BA from Rutgers University with majors in Philosophy and German, as well as a minor in Women’s and Gender Studies.
I've taught at the University of Konstanz, Loyola University of Chicago, the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, the University of Illinois at Chicago, Elmhurst College, and Northwestern University.
I am the assistant editor of the Baltic International Yearbook of Cognition, Logic, and Communication and an external member of the Laboratory for Perceptual and Cognitive Systems at the University of Latvia. I'm also on the production team at the journal Semantics and Pragmatics.
